Just before 9:00PM, Friday, July 17th,the sold out Brand New Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, greeted its first concert with music’s biggest star. The sound was deafening as Paul and his band took the stage and ripped into Drive My Car. The energy never stopped. Paul began is set with familiar songs from recent tours, adding two songs from his recent Fireman Cd and a few from Memory Almost Full. It was the songs he chose that he hadn’t performed in the states that got were truly amazing. Song’s like Day Tripper, A Day In the Life/Give Peace A Chance Medley, Paperback Writer & I’ve Got A Feeling. The light to middling rain for a while didn’t seem to bother anyone. He talked about the Shea Concert and how they couldn’t hear a thing because of all the screaming girls. This was a perfect cue for the screems of 2009. He played I’m Down, the song The Beatles closed the 1965 Concerts with. Live and Let Die was and always will be a showstopper with explosions and fireworks befitting a Fourth of July Celebration!! He then followed that up with Hey Jude. The band took a bow, left the stage and when they came back, Paul introduced Billy Joel, who as a hometown favorite received a thunderous ovation. He playing piano for I Saw Her Standin There, trading verses with Paul. It was an historic evening and one we will never forget. It was great seeing and talking to som many FEST regulars. Quite a few fans came up to us to say I was at the First one back in 1974, or I remember Mal Evans, from 1975, or Ronnie Spector was incredible this year. The Beatles ROCK BAND set up near section 333 and Michelle and I tried it out on Back In The U.S.S.R. It was a lot of fun and for all Chicago FEST attendees, do try it out there.

I,ve seen Paul 3 other times, none better then the Saturday
show at CitiField.
When the show started ,just before “Drive My Car” began I
turned to my 24 year old daughter and said, “This how it’s
done.” O yeah .

I saw the Citi field concert on July 17th. It was awesome! Paul also give a wonderful performance. He is so humble. He looked absolutely stunning as he did back in the day. I love him and his Beatle legacy. I was fortunate to have seen him at Shea twice, once at Forest Hills and when the Beatles came to JFK airport, when they landed in America. I was 8 yrs. old at the time. But I remembered it all the same. I will never forget the screaming girls @Shea stadium! Th Beatles will also be #1 in my heart. My dream is to meet Sir Paul, one day.! Just to think , Paul’s car passed me by, when I heard the one of the cops say “Paul McCartney coming through!. Boy, IN MY LIFE, I never thought I would hear that! Long Live Sir Paull!!!
I took my 20 year old son to the show on the 21st. He grew up listening to all my Beatles songs and when he was young he sat on my lap while we went through my many books and taught him who was who and what was happening when. Probably a lot of overkill for him and my other kids. But on August 21, 2009 when I saw the smile on his face and him clapping his hands with the thousands of other fans, I knew he finally got it. I told him that no matter what this will be the best show he will ever see of any kind in his entire life. He agreed. The best show ever from one of the four greatest musicians ever! Paul is a class act and gave us all the best night of our lives. Thanks Paul. You’re the best and we love you and your music forever!
My son and I drove from Pittsburgh to D.C. to see Paul perform at Fedex Field. The man is incredibe- 2hrs. and 40 min. and he didn’t even take a water break. I saw him when I was 11 when the Beatles came to Pittsburgh- well, I really couldn’t see him- my seat was so terrible. My best concert was in Columbus with my oldest son,Adam,- we were 2nd row CENTER- I cried with sheer joy at being able to really see Paul’s face as he sang and to see his fingers as he he played. My dream is to take my 4 children, be front row center, and let them experience the greatest musician who ever lived- and to get a kiss from him in the end! Just one more tour, Paul- help me make my dream come true, and I promise you won’t mind the kiss…
The Citi Field concert on July 18th was the most incredible experience! I’ve seen Paul many times, but none quite like this performance. He seemed happier and younger than ever. His energy drew the audience right in. I was lucky enough to have fourth row center seats and on top of that, was part of a group that got to sit through Sir Paul’s sound check. The sound check was so intimate, a mini concert itself and something that I will remember and treasure for the rest of my life. The Beatles will always be #1.
i’m a little late to tell everyone how exciting paul was on july 21, but, better late than never!!!! i have loved the beatles since they came over from liverpool. four cute guys, who could sing, who could be funny and 45 years later although john was killed by a deranged man and george died of cancer, their legacy still always lives on and always will. paul played an amazing set and didn’t stop for anything. it was incredible and i’m so proud to say i loved every second of it and it brought me back to the early days. god bless the beatles!!!!
Saw Paul the first two shows at Citi Field. This was the 4th time I had seen him live. The last time he was on tour in 2005 I caught the first show at Madison Square Garden. Probably the best concert I have ever seen in my life! It was so good that when I got home I bought tickets to see him at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Thanksgiving weekend. We took the kids to see him at MSG. They were 13 and 12 at the time and I realized that they had just seen the best concert they would ever see for the rest of their lives. To borrow a line from another band: “There is nothing like a Paul McCartney concert.”

Dear Paul, I wasn´t in a Paul McCartney concert,however, I hope that some day you comes to Peru. If you don´t play it doesn´t matter, if you don´t make a concert in Peru, but only to talk with you,to know you, and show you the best of Peru, maybe to could know it Macchu Picchu, Nazca lines, only to know you, God bless you.
I went to opening night at Citifield with my 25yr old son and it was the best night of my life. Being a Beatles fan since they first came to the U.S. It was the first time I had seen them live and Paul was fantastic.

It was 20 years ago today (11-27)that I saw Paul McCartney play! He’s never gone out-of-style, and he’s guaranteed to raise a smile!!! When I was 21, I Saw Him Standing There for the first and only time (so far). I don’t think I’m ever going to have a chance to see him again, but at least I EXPERIENCED that wonderful rockshow when I did.Yes, a Paul concert is absolultly an incredible experience of a liftime. I had been a fan for 7 years up to that point, loving all things Paul-Beatles/Wings/solo- The man himself just chewing gum, I didn’t care what the guy was doing,I have loved him more than any other clebrity in history!I will always love him the most. If you ever have a remote chance of seeing him in concert, do everything in your power to go!!! Wow! what a memory =)!!!
Just wanted to let all the fans know that I received the new Good Evening New York City – Paul’s new CD, and DVD set as a
Christmas gift. It is an excellent set. Especially if you saw the concert @ Citifield, you can re-live that magical evening. I sure hope that Paul returns to New York City, would love to see him again, hopefully with a chance of a better seat.! How do you get front row center??? I agree with one of the fans above, I think that Paul has gotten better over the years. I love the part in the show, when they were playing the song “I’m down.”, and showed us the clip from Shea Stadium (past) to Citifield (present), almost brought tears to my eyes! (Was fortunate to have been at both concerts!) The concert was done extremely well. Thanks again Paul. Can’t wait for the next concert. Does anyone think that he will perform in the near future? Please let me know.
