For the first time on U.S. soil since August 29, 1966, Paul and Ringo performed together this past Saturday night, April 4th, at the David Lynch Foundation Benefit Concert at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. It was great to see so many FEST regulars at this historic event and we weren’t disappointed. The evening had many great musical highlights but for Beatles Fans, it was the last hour that was magical. Ringo came out and performed It Don’t Come Easy, Boys and Yellow Submarine (with Sheryl Crow and Eddie Vedder giddily singing background vocals). It was a great moment. Then, after resetting the stage, Paul and his band amazed the totally sold out audience with Drive My Car, Jet, Got to Get You Into My Life, Let It Be, Lady Madonna, Blackbird, Here Today, Band on the Run, and Can’t Buy Me Love. Paul then introduces “Billy Shears” and the place exploded as Ringo came running on the stage to sing With A Little Help From My Friends. Paul sang the harmonies and response lines in THE SAME MICROPHONE! After the song they had their arms around each other and had an exuberant glow about them. Most fans, including myself, were teary eyed at this moment. Then Ringo hopped on the drums for an appropriate song for the evening. It was a benefit with a goal of teaching 1 million children transcendental meditation. Paul said he wrote the song while in India in 1968 and performed Cosmically Conscious (from 1993’s Off the Ground CD) with most of the evening’s ensemble. The grand finale was I Saw Her Standing There with everybody joining in. What an unforgettable and historic evening! Other unannounced guests included Jerry Seinfeld, Howard Stern and Mike Love. Donovan was the catalyst who helped organize this event, and it was also wonderful seeing him again. Look for a probable TV special and a DVD of the event later this year.
The Original & Longest Running Beatles Celebration, Since 1974!

I was there with my son..it was a truly great time to see that last 45 mins..Paul had the same band he’s been using since the 2005 tour and those guys were having the time of THEIR lives…especially the drummer..the crowd was silent as HERE TODAY was performed which is one of the most touching songs I’ve ever heard and to come out of that with BAND ON THE RUN was fantastic. Seeing Ringo and Paul was a moment my son and I will always treasure….funny note: as you stated, seeing Eddie Vedder and Sheryl Crow singing “We All Live In A Yellow Submarine” was indeed funny…they probably ouldn’t believe they were singing that line together..
A friggin splendid time..and for a good cause. What could be better? Rock on everyone….
Wow!!!…Just hearing about this news brought tears to my eyes!
I guess this was as close as we will ever get to seeing our dreams come true as Beatle fans…..A Beatles reunion!!!!…If it could only be…….Maybe someday……another place, another time……..
Can’t wait for the DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to see Paul and Ringo come to Australia to perform that would be awesome.

hi beatle fans,!!! that must have been a unbeleivable nite! i hoipe sume of that is on utube!!
I was at the Paul rehearsal in NYC waiting for Paul to come out. When he went in, he told the guys standing there waiting for an autograph that they were “professional, professional, professional” and he didn’t sign for them. I got there seconds after he went in to rehearse. When he came out 4 hours later, he stood on the top step of the exit and waved and blew kisses to the crowd of hundreds. I yelled, “Paul, would you please sign for an old fan!?” He was walking to the SUV when he turned and came straight at me, pointing his finger at me. He said. “I’m going to sign for a real fan! Hey, love ya baby!” Then he took the pen and hotel paper from my hands and signed his full name – PAUL MCCARTNEY!!!!! He handed it back to me while I stood staring at him – camera frozen in my hand. He gave me back my pen and signed paper saying, “Here you go, babe, that’s for you. Just for you. Alright now…..” I could only yell, “Thank you very much!!!!” Tears flowing and all. He turned around and walked straight to his car, got in and left. I got the only autograph after the rehearsals!! It was the most exciting moment in my entire life. I still can’t believe it. WOW! My friend Becky video taped the whole thing. It isn’t the greatest video because the guys behind us -ebay guys, paparazzi and TMZ -were pushing so hard to get to him that we almost got knocked over. Thanks to the security guards that were pushing back on the barricades, we weren’t on the ground. They stuck things in front of her and her video camera and she was bracing herself with her other hand on the barricade so she wouldn’t fall down. It still is a great tape!!
I will always get chills thinking about it!!
What a great guy he is. He can pick out a real fan in a crowd of hundreds. He is the greatest!!
Thanks for letting me tell about my brush with the incredible Paul McCartney. It only took 45 years.
Ringo, on the other hand, said and did nothing going in. He didn’t even acknowledge us. On the way out, though, he did wave quickly and get into his Escalade and away he went.
Paul is always the crowd pleaser.

I was one of those lucky few who got to see this concert.Paul & Ringo together was an unforgettable experience – Beatle magic in the air! It was wonderful to see both Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison in attendance. When Paul sang “Here Today” which he wrote for John, everyone was close to tears. Sheryl Crow sang a cover of George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord,” with Ben Harper on lap guitar (his wife Laura Dern was co-host/announcer with David Lynch.)My personal hi-light was meeting Donovan in my hotel elevator the next morning. I told him I enjoyed his performance of Hurdy Gurdy Man the night before an he was very gracious. He still looks a lot like he did when he sat alongside the Beatles at the ashram in Rishikesh, just a bit more grey hair.
Let’s hope there will come another chance to see Ringo and Paul perform together! The world needs their good energy.
Would have LOVED to see the show–if they and the others are planning a tour, Michigan has some great venues, including the Fox Theater, Palace of Auburn Hills (in Detroit), Whiting Auditorium (in Flint) and DTE Energy Music Theater (near Detroit). Also, would be great to have a Fest in the Detroit area, as the Fabs played at Olympia Stadium in 1964 and 1966–the Whittier Hotel is closed, but it could be a place to have it. If the Fest committee has considered doing so, I can help out with details, let me know.
It was amazing and wonderful to see them together again. If only they knew how much the world wants to see them on tour together. I would almost go anywhere to see that. Please Paul and Ringo give it all to us again. Make it in memory of John and George.
To Whom It May Concern,
Please send me a photo of Paul and Ringo where they are together
at Radio Citys 35th Anniversary even if it’s a 5×7. And I can’t wait till the DVD comes out also please notify me when it does.
Thank you so much for your attention to this request., And thank you all, for making The Beatles Accessories so available.
Sincerely,
Susan Becerra

We will post any details about the DVD release of the concert, but absolutely nothing has been announced. Hopefully it will be out before the end of the year. Stay tuned. Now we have more Paul Concerts to look forward to, at least on the East Coast, in the next 3-4 weeks.
Unbelieveable !!! I definitely wish I was there !!! As soon as the DVD comes out, it’s mine ” I Can’t Tell U, But I Know It’s Mine ” PEACE&LOVE&BEATLES4EVER !!!! Larry Penna, beatlelp, “Big-G-Papa”.
Yes,I wish for them to play here in Santa Rosa, one point it would be very small venue :{ but if it was possiable I would go,have special ticket, with the beatles in a car call Ticket to ride tour, just a thought it would be intiment eveyone could have tea and the stage would look like a living room with speakers and drumset, and some of our local musicians would jam with them, there would be part interview, and stories by ringo and paul,in the lobby there would be autographed c/ds by paul and ringo, also containing a warm intimant interview/talk about the pass and current events and how we all can relate to the now.

I am 61 y/o. I read about these concerts and I cry. I can’t explain it except that I remember sitting in the library @ school….and ALL I could think about was the BEATLES. Bands come and go but to this day, I truly believe the innocence of youth, the Viet Nam War and dysfunctional family I lived in contributed to my life long love of the Beatles. The words were simple, yet they said so much. Their subjects crossed all spectrums without offending anyone. My 3 y/o grandson has a Dvd with “yellow submarine’ and he loves it. It is true, at that stage of history: “All we are saying is give peace a chance”. And the lovely ” I want to hold your hand”. I have all the DVDs and missed a once in a lifetime chance in Atlanta which is only 350 miles from where I live. I have Paul on my BUCKET LIST for 2010!!!! Please come back to Atlanta or close to Pensacola FL. I couldn’t go because I am a Nurse and could not “work it out” but nothing would stop my second chance if I were to be sooo lucky. AND, I will find me a “nickle bag” too. We may seem old to some but we are young at heart!!! Beatles forever.
