We Remember John

lennonDecember 8, 1980 – The saddest day on the Beatles calendar. John Lennon was assassinated in front of his home on West 72nd Street in NYC. The world literally stopped for a week. As Elton John sang, in his tribute to John, “Empty Garden”  – “A gardener like that one, no one can replace”. It is still a difficult day for fans to get through, but listening to his music and thinking of all the love he gave the world definitely helps. Very few people who have ever walked the face of this Earth have become as well known and loved as John, Paul, George, & Ringo. The positive influence they have had still affects every day life. Their message of Peace and Love is very powerful and to see younger people getting the message is very heartwarming. Long Live The Beatles!

All You Need is Love.

  11. If ever there was a TRUE Ambassador for Peace it was John. The man gave us so much, and we owe it to his legacy to continue the Push for Peace. He molded himself and three other band mates into the worlds most recognized and popular musicians, and changed the musical industry forever. He is a force that is sorely missed each and every day! Much Love John!

  12. Mark David Chapman stole the life of John Winston Lennon on December 8, 1980. He also stole part of my childhood…Instant Karma will get you Mark and John is watching from above!!!!

  13. God bless John, Yoko, Sean and their family. God bless Paul, Ringo & George (may he rest in peace). And God bless the sick man who took John’s life. He probably needs it more than anyone. me too. Merry Christmas to all.

  14. I was a senior in high school. I was excited about the new album and upcoming tour that I heard was in the works. John was a complex man. One who was critical on everyone but even more so on himself. He recreated some of the same pain that his parents had beset on him with Julian. Yet he made a new start with Sean. He conquered his addictions. He was making good music again and repairing his relationships with Julian and Paul. He was certainly the Beatles leader.
A Charmer, Comedian, Lover, Fighter, Artist, Competitor, Musician, Friend, Creator, Peace Activist, Rebel, and Philosopher. He was at the center of the storm and survived it. In the end his life shows us that we can rise above our circumstances of birth, grow and live a meaningful life. Have fun along the way, make mistakes and recover from them. Take time out for ourselves & remember how important family is. Laugh, love, live, and maybe even change the world.

  17. Still, to this day, one of the most tragic events in my life. Still miss him daily. We can only wonder what other great things he would have accomplished had he lived. John, you will live forever in our hearts!

  18. i love the beatles and also john lennon who inspire i never forgot the beatles and also john i love the beatles

  19. I am also a beatles fan,but I also think that John would not want us to harbor such strong feelings of hate towards the man who took his life….John was all about peace and love have we really forgotten that?….he didn’t mean for us to just have peace and love just for the ones we already care about….make John proud, let justice serve but don’t hate

  20. I should follow my own advice. Th extreme loss and sadness we all feel HAS to be replaced by a way of thinking of “we were so much better off to have experienced the presence of his life, which will go on forever, than to have lived without it.”

  21. I am 14 years old and my boyfriend got me into The Beatles. Lately I have been researching John Lennon and listening to his and the Beatles music like crazy. Bless you John. I have pictures of you and the Beatles all over my room. You live forever!

  27. What can you really say…. angered towards that pistol and that fool of gunman, angered towards all of them that bothered John in his last 5 years on this planet, saddened by our loss, saddened that the new recordings have stopped. He was just getting started again, like starting over…

  31. He’ll always remain my favorite ever. I don’t even like thinking of the day he passed because it was cruel and tragic beyond belief. But I am still so very grateful to have all his beautiful music, to be able to enjoy his artwork, his books, and even the music of both of his sons. John’s legacy lives on in so many beautiful ways. He was just that good.
