Mark Rivera, Ringo's current Musical Director, premiered his first solo album, Common Bond, at the NYC FEST in 2014. It is a collection of eight originals and two covers. Mark and producer Jimmy Bralower (Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood) assembled an amazing cast of friends and colleagues including a rare appearance by Billy Joel on one track. Ringo, Robert Randolph, Nils Lofgren and Steve Lukather also contributed their great talents to this excellent album. His song, "Money, Money, Money" (with Ringo playing Drums) was voted the 8th Coolest Song of the Year on Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius/FM.
Mark is a huge Beatles fans and early in his amazing career, performed with John Lennon in 1975, an experience he will never forget. We're thrilled to be welcoming back Mark, one of the finest Sax players in the business, to the NY METRO FEST! Mark will be joining in the nightly jams and greatly adding his musical knowledge on Sunday's Musicians' Forum.
